Atlantic City
Hospitality Industry

Welcome to LodgingGuide.com's lodging listings for the Atlantic City area.

Atlantic City is built on Absecon Island, a hunting and fishing area occupied originally by the Lenni-Lenape Indians, and purchased from them in the late 1600s. Throughout its history, Atlantic City has been viewed as a getaway for the wealthy, a place to be seen, and a hot spot for development and striking it rich. The street names from the popular board game Monopoly are taken from Atlantic City, which again has reinvented itself as a casino town to rival Las Vegas. In spite of its rapid development, historic preservationists are strong here, and many of the buildings and landmarks that defined the more aristocratic Atlantic City of the past are still standing, providing as rich a contrast as does the juxtaposition of beach culture with the casino lifestyle.
